Katie Dunfee

Owner - RunBuddy Mobile® - Greater North Shore

RunBuddy Mobile® – Greater North Shore was born from a simple realization: there was a gap in the services available to dogs and their families in our community. Katie Dunfee - a fourth-generation Grafton resident now raising her own family in the same community - knew there was a need for a flexible, personalized fitness and enrichment option, especially for dogs who don’t thrive in traditional settings like dog parks or daycare.

Katie’s love for animals has always been at the center of everything she has done. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and has spent much of her career working in the veterinary and animal care fields. Through those experiences, she has seen firsthand how important exercise, enrichment, and routine are to a dog’s overall health, behavior, and happiness.

As different business ideas were explored, Katie kept coming back to the concept of a mobile dog gym - something that could meet dogs where they are while providing structured, one-on-one fitness and mental engagement. That search eventually led her to RunBuddy Mobile® in Phoenix, Arizona. After connecting with owners David and Shaunie Lopez, Katie traveled to Arizona to train directly with David and experience the program firsthand. Seeing the focus, excitement, and transformation in the dogs confirmed that this was exactly the kind of service she wanted to bring to Wisconsin.

RunBuddy Mobile® – Greater North Shore is both a professional calling and a personal commitment. It is a promise to offer something valuable to the community and surrounding area by enriching the lives of local dogs and the families who love them. That commitment also includes giving back to local rescue organizations and foster dogs, helping the dogs build confidence, develop positive behaviors, and increase their chances of finding loving forever homes. 

At the end of the day, nothing beats a dog’s excitement when the RunBuddy van pulls up—ready, tail wagging, and eager to get moving. That’s what RunBuddy Mobile® is all about.
